However, this variety makes it harder to choose the right one for the task, which is exactly what prompted me to start benchmarking all the available types. To add extra confusion, some types may come with an older (slower) CPU if you don't set min_cpu_platform to the latest available for the type - so you need the extra configuration to get a faster machine for the same price.
